World Clothes for Equal Dignity
Anne Namba
In 1999, at a conference in Belfast, Lindner met with Audrey E. Kitagawa, a Japanese participant, who wore beautiful clothes that displayed a combination of kimono material and modern style. Audrey told Lindner that her tailor was Anne Namba in Hawai'i, who would find used kimono in Japan, cut them up, and then integrate the material into her modern clothes. In 2002, Audrey sent Lindner some pictures of pieces made by Anne Namba (further down).
Anne Namba, in her work, appears to express the values and vision that also HumanDHS attempts to promote in the World Clothes for Equal Dignity project.
